About

Hungry Fish Media was founded in 2013 by esteemed producer/director Jay Hix Jones, wife Kara Jones, and Dr. Charles Hix. Known for his stellar contributions to popular shows like "Ice Road Truckers," "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," and "Hoarders", Jones has grown and evolved the brand since its creation. With Jay's unrivaled passion for storytelling, he has paved the way in establishing a prominent platform that's been recognized and celebrated for its unique projects spanning across continents, reaching millions worldwide.
Jones serves as Head of Production and Communications Specialist at Hungry Fish, bringing 20 years of experience telling meaningful, high-impact stories for television and digital platforms. As an Executive Producer on the Emmy Nominated long-running series Hoarders, Jay led communication strategies around deeply emotional, high-stakes stories involving families, crisis, transformation, and hope. His work requires translating complex, sensitive subject matter into clear, compassionate messaging that builds trust with audiences, stakeholders, and communities. At Hungry Fish Media, Jay applies this same skill set to develop authentic narratives, oversee messaging across platforms, and ensure every project communicates with clarity, empathy, and purpose.
Today, Hungry Fish stands at the forefront of media production and brand strategy. We are privileged to collaborate with a diverse spectrum of clients - from networks, leading brands, foundations, and innovative content creators to enterprise corporations and passionate local businesses. Our primary aim is to tell stories that inspire and impact the world in positive ways.
